Information about Birch doTERRA Essential Oil

Information about Birch doTERRA Essential Oil For over a century it has been impossible to get Birch essential oil in it’s pure form.  This is due in a large part to the high demand for the oil in the early 19th Century.  With the high demand, the availability of the oil diminished and the quality was degraded.  Once they learned to make the desired components synthetically, it became even more difficult to find. Both Birch and Wintergreen both have a high amount (99.9%) of Methyl Salicylate, a natural Cox Enzyme inhibitor.   Birch also has some additional components such as Linalool and Limonene that add to it’s application possibilities. Many cultures have used Birch over the centuries to treat different symptoms.  The Native Americans used it for headaches, muscle aches, cold, fever and digestive problems.  Birch can also be used for the following: Analgesic Anthelmintic Anti-inflammatory Anti-rheumatic Antiseptic Antitoxic Astringent Depurative Antispasmodic Disinfectant Diuretic Febrifuge Insect Repellant Insecticide Laxative Rubefacient (Circulatory Enhancer) Fun Fact: Birch can be used as a natural teeth whitener.  Add one or two drops of Birch to your toothbrush after you finish brushing and brush with the oil to naturally whiten your teeth.
